1 month check up!
It seems like just yesterday I was freaking out about there being only 1 month left until Daisy's arrival and now I find myself in awe that she's already been in this world 1 month! Slow down baby girl, you're growing up too fast! As much as I am not the biggest fan of sleepless nights, boobs that are not private property every few hours, and laundry up to my eyeballs, I wouldn't change these moments for anything! I hear people say 'oh I can't wait til they can do this or that' but honestly, why rush it? She's got her whole life to grow up! Yesterday Daisy had her 1 month check up at the pediatricians. She's in the 50% percentile for height at 21 inches long and 25% percentile for weight at 8 lbs 12 oz! Our girl's getting big! She has her moments but for the most part she is an amazing eater! She continues to sleep constantly but likes to lay awake for a little while after her middle of the night feeding. As long as I turn on the little lamp on my nightstand she's content to lay there looking around until she drifts off to dreamland again.

Where has the time gone?!
Daisy is 4 weeks old today! Where have the last 4 weeks gone? You're guess is as good as mine! We've gone to doctor's appointments, Tenncare appointments, WIC appointments, church, and one very long exhausting Sam's Club shopping trip, other than that we've pretty much stayed home. We got hit with another winter storm last weekend and got another 8-10 inches of snow. I'm not sure when Tennessee became a northern state but so far this winter has been crazy!
I'll try and recap a little of the last month, at least what I can remember of it. Daisy got a WHITE CHRISTMAS her first year! How lucky is she?! She has done amazing breastfeeding and will occasionally sleep a 4-5 hour stretch at night! She loves her swing and has become very interested in the last week in the stuffed animals we have in her pack-n-play! She'll take a paci (Ci) every so often when she's fussy or sleepy but isn't all that attached to it. I know there's a lot of debate on "nipple confusion" but I decided since she was doing so well nursing occasionally giving her a paci wouldn't hurt, and I was right, she's still a very eager eater! She can however sleep through an entire feeding. She'll be wide awake and start rooting so I'll begin nursing and within minutes she's out cold but eating away! I've never known a baby to sleep so much and through anything (dog barking, vacuum running, etc.)! She enjoys her sleep like her momma does apparently! She's beginning to have more wide awake moments throughout the day and you can tell she's starting to take in her surroundings. So far Daisy has saved all of her messes for mommy, peeing, pooping, and spitting up all over me! Only once has she really spit up on Daniel, but to his disadvantage he was bare chested! Daisy does NOT like bath time! To my dismay she still hasn't lost her umbilical cord! Hopefully once she does and is able to take tub baths she won't react like we're torturing her!
For the most part we have all adjusted well, all of us except for the dog who is feeling a little neglected :-( I love Tink to death and trust me I've wanted to kill her a few times in the last couple weeks! Just the other night at 4 AM she decided to get up out of bed, go into Daisy's room and throw up on her brand new rug! Lets just say that made for one very mad, tired, cranky woman!
I'm working on remembering and writing Daisy's birth story but you'll have to bare with me, its all very fuzzy. With my current lack of sleep even yesterday was hazy! In the meantime I leave you with a few pictures from the last couple of weeks...
